I have to mention one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, the Stanton Social in the Lower East Side. We ate there last night, and it was as good as I remember. They serve tapa type dishes, small appetizers that are meant to be shared. My favorite is the Maryland Crabcake Corndogs- they are one of the best things I've ever tasted! The atmosphere is great too, three-levels and a huge glowing wine wall, intimate tables and couches in a low lit setting. The best part is that the restaurant pays homage to the past LES garment district with its innovative design. Even the staff references the fashions of the 1940's era wearing Mary-Jane shoes, A-line skirts and seamed stockings. I always leave there full and happy.
