Happy Holidays!

Let it snow...or not

Not sure what to give for the holidays? I've put together some of my favorite things this season, Miami Beach style. Home to where the weather is not so frightful, but an average 70 degrees in December. We may need some mittens to warm our hands while sipping cocktails on the beach, but swimsuits, sandals and palm trees ensue this season, lucky enough for those in SoFL! Another reason to leave that snowy weather for a visit...

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving feasts! To remind you it is still summer weather here in Miami, I wanted to share some images from this past summer's issue of Ocean Drive of Red Carter Menswear. The Gobbletini...

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? I am thankful for my wonderful friends and family, my dog Spencer, being successful at what I love doing (designing!), and living in sunny South Beach year-round.  Let's toast with my favorite Turkey Day cocktail, the Gobbletini!

1 part vodka
2 parts Cranberry-Pomegranate juice
1/2 part lemon juice 

Baby Corn

Ice

Mix it up in a shaker and strain into a pretty martini glass. Add baby corn to the side for a festive decoration.

Many of you may not know, but we hold the licensing for the Jessica Simpson Swimwear Collection. We work with her to design 2 collections a year, Resort and Summer. I will meet with her in L.A. soon to go over the Summer 2011 collection. Here are some photos from the Resort 2011 season, which hits stores this month. Check out Macy's for a sure bet to find one!

The Stanton Social...

I have to mention one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, the Stanton Social in the Lower East Side. We ate there last night, and it was as good as I remember. They serve tapa type dishes, small appetizers that are meant to be shared. My favorite is the Maryland Crabcake Corndogs- they are one of the best things I've ever tasted! The atmosphere is great too, three-levels and a huge glowing wine wall, intimate tables and couches in a low lit setting. The best part is that the restaurant pays homage to the past LES garment district with its innovative design. Even the staff references the fashions of the 1940's era wearing Mary-Jane shoes, A-line skirts and seamed stockings. I always leave there full and happy. SOHO Beach House Opens

The sexy and sophisticated SOHO Beach House has finally opened it's doors in Miami Beach. This is one of my favorite hang outs when I go to New York City, and now I have the pleasure of enjoying it here in my own backyard. You can find me relaxing here on any given weekend, or maybe even a week day here and there. Even better, Red Carter swimsuits are now available in their store. Hoping to optimize my relaxation time this weekend and soak up the sun before the winter weather creeps in. Hope to see you at the SOHO house for a cocktail this weekend, friends!

Tori Praver Swimwear

I wanted to introduce you to a fellow swimwear designer, Tori Praver, if you haven't already heard of her. Tori is a famous supermodel and also a dear friend of mine. She walked her first runway show years ago in one of my shows! Tori has started her own line of swimsuits since she has grown up surfing, living in Hawaii, and of course loving the beach. They incorporate great colors, fit, and function. Check out her website to see her suits, which are selling like crazy!

Paris!

In September I attended the fabulous tradeshow Mode City in Paris. It was great to meet with buyers, and also check out the latest fabrics and colors for the upcoming season. I did lots of vintage shopping and got some new inspiration for our Summer 2011 collection, as well as ate and drank some amazing food! Here are a few photos from my trip, with our global showroom director, Alexa Cahill.
